Hey guys! I decided to add a blog to the website for a few reasons. First, because during the slower seasons when I have fewer photo shoots this will give me a way to stay updated with everyone. I can keep you all updated on photography projects, upcoming collabs, or show you some of my favorite client sessions- at the very least you will know I'm still here! Also, as most of you know my husband is now active duty Coast Guard. This means we will be moving around quite often- hence the blog's title, "A Little Bit of Everywhere". We are going to experience so many new places and our goal as a family is to explore as much of the states as possible wherever we are stationed. So I thought, what a cool way for me to share my explorations with you guys! A photo blog/journal can show you guys all the things I'm doing and seeing in each state!
This first post features photographs from- you guessed it- good ole' Windy City. Back in May my husband, son, and I took an overnight trip to Chicago to watch my husband get sworn into the Coast Guard officially. That's really when this new life of ours began, so I thought that would make a good first blog post. When we went to the recruiter's office in Chicago we realized that we may never live so close to Chi-Town again. For years we lived only a 2 hours drive from there yet never took advantage of it because we assumed we would always live in Michiana.
The street vibes in Chicago are great. I would walk all the time if I was walking by walls with murals and such colorful scenery! We walked all over downtown enjoy the city atmosphere, grabbed some Do-Rite Donuts, visited the Lincoln Park Zoo, and hit up the Peggy Noetbaert Nature Museum. The nature museum had an awesome butterfly exhibit and we even got to see some butterflies hatching right in front of us- way cool.
Our last trip to Chicago was a bittersweet one. I felt sad that I hadn't taken advantage of all the previous opportunities I'd had to photograph and explore it. But, as they say, the show must go on! And since this trip in May I have experienced so many more amazing places and day trips that I can't wait to blog about and share my experiences with you through the camera lens. ♥
